Masaryk University puts a language model inside its student system
Masarykova univerzita — Masarykova univerzita has built AI in higher education administration straight into IS MU, the system its students and staff already use for coursework and teaching logistics, rolling out new capabilities through September 2026. CARNET — CARNET, the Croatian Academic and Research Network, has finished a school AI curriculum spanning primary year five to the end of secondary, closing with 'Umjetna inteligencija: od koncepta do primjene' for third and fourth years. Florida moves to require AI policies at all 28 state colleges
Florida Department of Education — The Florida Department of Education has proposed a rule requiring all 28 Florida College System institutions to adopt AI policies covering grading, course assignments and academic integrity for students, staff and campus guests. Education Commissioner Henry Mack approved it, and the State Board of Education considers it on 16 September. Kansas district turns its school cameras into AI gun detectors

Ontario Tech pilots an in-house AI learning agent in 22 courses
Ontario Tech University — Ontario Tech University has put an in-house AI Learning Agent into 22 undergraduate and graduate courses across every faculty for the Winter and Spring 2026 terms. Drawing only on instructor-approved course materials, it prompts students with guiding questions instead of giving answers, and faculty control access and content. Instructors see recurring student questions live, helping them target teaching, the university says; in this pilot, student testers help refine and govern the tool.
Morocco will use AI detectors against baccalaureate cheating
Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Pre-School and Sports — Morocco's Ministry of National Education will use AI exam cheating detection devices to find and block suspicious communications in baccalaureate examination centres for the session opening in early June 2026. Named T3-SHIELD and made by Sensthings, a company linked to the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, the signal detectors catch Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cellular transmissions and other hidden communications, and serve no other purpose. Ethiopia pilots an offline AI assistant for secondary teachers
Ethiopian Ministry of Education — Ethiopia's Ministry of Education and Huawei began trialling a national-curriculum AI teacher assistant for grades 9 to 12 on 14 May 2026. Working entirely without internet access, the classroom AI lets teachers draft exams and lesson plans faster where networks are weak.
Vancouver school board gives students aged 13 and up Copilot
Vancouver School Board — Microsoft Copilot chatbot accounts reached secondary pupils aged 13 and up across Vancouver School Board, Canada, part of a wider push on AI in schools. Guardrails filter harmful material, shield privacy and prevent chats from training AI models, while staff describe the effort as building safe, thoughtful habits among learners. New teacher guidance arrived alongside this classroom AI rollout.
Quebec school board gives students and staff four generative AI tools
Centre de services scolaire des Chênes — Centre de services scolaire des Chênes in Drummondville added four generative AI tools — Microsoft Copilot Chat, Canva, Google Gemini and Gemini Notebook — to its toolkit. Secondary, vocational and adult-education students, teachers and special-education technicians got access first, ahead of administrative and professional staff from 15 September and primary pupils later, extending AI in Quebec schools via generative AI in education.
Quebec school board pilots Emilia AI correction tool for teachers

Quebec rolls out AI dropout prediction tool across school service centres
Quebec Ministry of Education — 22 Quebec school service centres now fully run an AI dropout prediction tool, 27 more mid-rollout. GRICS built the system for the Ministry of Education, scanning grades and attendance to flag Grade 6 through Secondary V students at risk of leaving school early. England approves a Level 4 AI and automation apprenticeship
England has a Level 4 'AI and automation practitioner' apprenticeship standard (ST1512), approved for delivery on 10 December 2025, for non-specialist operational staff using AI and automation tools rather than AI engineers. It typically lasts 18 months, with a 420-hour minimum, up to £18,000 funding per apprentice and Ofqual providing external quality assurance.

India launches a multilingual AI skilling chatbot on WhatsApp
India's Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) launched the Skill India Assistant on 21 July 2025, a multilingual AI skilling chatbot on WhatsApp built on Meta's open-source Llama model. MSDE calls it the first large-scale open-source AI deployment in a national public skilling mission. By February 2026 its Skill India Digital Hub, run with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), counted 1.5 crore (about 15 million) candidates, 7,000 training providers and 68,000 employer and industry partners.

Only 37% of UK Skills Bootcamp starters achieved a positive outcome
Of 42,340 people who started a Wave 3 (2022–23) course in the UK's Skills Bootcamps programme, only 15,570 achieved a positive outcome, 37% of starters. While 54% of surveyed participants were promised a guaranteed employer interview, just 24% reported one offered or scheduled.
Only 41% of India's PMKVY-certified trainees were placed in jobs
India's supreme audit institution found skilling scheme placements for just 2.318 million, or 41%, of the 5.614 million candidates certified under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana's short-term training. AI tutor lifts Nigerian students' learning in World Bank trial
A World Bank randomised trial in Edo State, Nigeria showed AI tutoring lifting learning by roughly 0.31 standard deviations, and 0.23 in English, across a six-week after-school scheme for about 800 senior-secondary students. Supervised by teachers, pupils used a generative-AI tutor, Microsoft Copilot powered by GPT-4; the World Bank likens the improvement to about two years of typical learning, and end-of-year exam scores rose too. A formal working paper records the trial.
