Djibouti3 Sep 2026Ministère délégué chargé de l'Économie numérique et de l'Innovation (MDENI) — The Ministry Delegate for Digital Economy and Innovation (MDENI) unveiled the first National Artificial Intelligence Strategy (SNIA) 2026-2030, which sets the direction of Djibouti AI policy, on day two of the first National AI Forum, with UNESCO and ESCWA backing. The national AI policy roadmap prioritises inclusion, innovation, research, training, cybersecurity and governance.

It backs December 2025's urban multi-hazard early-warning network.

Output included sample lesson plans using generative AI tools, automated grading rubrics and a draft ethics charter for ministry-wide use. A CREFA/OIF centre ceremony marked completion.

Yards park imminent departures nearest the gate, burying slower boxes, so container pick-up prediction trims re-handling and dwell times. The reveal came at Djibouti's debut national artificial intelligence forum.

Instead of waiting for scheduled inspections, crews receive live alerts, which speeds up repair scheduling and helps DPCR SA target maintenance spending where it matters most. The operator links the deployment to safer travel between Djibouti and Ethiopia, part of a broader push under Vision 2035 to position the country as a regional logistics hub.

The two-year AI higher education programme, worth 120 ECTS credits, spans deep learning, machine learning, natural language processing and postgraduate AI study for health, banking and port logistics.
