Côte d'Ivoire starts AI training for 3,000 technical-school teachers
Ministry of Technical Education (Côte d'Ivoire) — Minister Jean-Louis Moulot rolled out AI training for teachers in Côte d'Ivoire's technical and vocational schools, aiming at 3,000 staff via a UNESCO co-designed scheme. SNDI trains 192 Ivorian civil servants in AI and digital skills
Société Nationale de Développement Informatique (SNDI) — SNDI delivered AI training for civil servants across 35 agencies in Côte d'Ivoire's Hambol region, handing certificates to 192 participants after a five-week course backed by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Technological Innovation. Curriculum topics ranged from artificial intelligence fundamentals through basic computing, web browsing and office applications, spanning 22 June to 29 July 2026. Katiola hosted the closing event marking completion, extending digital skills for government workers outside the capital.

Cardiology institute launches AI chatbot trial for hypertension patients
Institut de Cardiologie d'Abidjan / African Research Network — 300 hypertension patients in Côte d'Ivoire are testing an AI chatbot for hypertension patients called AVIA (Assistant vocal d'intervention automatisée), a voice-based AI health monitoring tool built by Ivorian startup data354 for the Institut de Cardiologie d'Abidjan and the African Research Network. Split into two groups, participants get calls every three weeks so it can track their condition, flag unusual readings to doctors and gauge blood pressure gains over six months. Only a phone line is needed, no internet, suiting patients far from clinics.
