Azerbaijan's food safety agency to run AI risk analysis in AQTİS

Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency — The Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency will apply AI food safety risk analysis inside the Automated Food Safety Information System, or AQTİS, tightening enforcement, rule-making and the warnings that reach traders and shoppers, under a State Programme for 2027-2032 signed by President Ilham Aliyev. Kit selection comes first, jointly with other public bodies, before a model that flags hazard detection and brewing trouble is built and turned on. The Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and the Ministry of Economy share delivery.

Bir puts an AI assistant inside Azerbaijan's m10 wallet

Bir — Bir has dropped a chatbot named Ey-ay into the m10 digital wallet, the first AI payments assistant fielded in Azerbaijan and a product of the Caucasus region's earliest joined-up e-commerce, banking and payments ecosystem. Everyday transfers and the rest of the menu now run as conversational payments through plain chat, riding a swift national retreat from cash. Bank ABB launches voice AI assistants AI-nur and AI-khan

Azerbaijan criminalises non-consensual AI images and voice clones

Republic of Azerbaijan — Azerbaijan has rewritten its Criminal Code, Criminal Procedure Code and its media and information statutes to reach artificial intelligence. Deepfakes now anchor Azerbaijan AI regulation: new article 148-2 makes it an offence to build or circulate unreal photo, video or audio drawn from someone's face or voice without permission, while article 242-1 does the same for pornographic or sexually explicit output. Machine-made matter shown publicly must bear a label that is easy to spot under the new AI law.
