Lao Cai pilots an AI assistant that fills in citizens' administrative forms
Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee — Lao Cai province is piloting "Tro ly Nhan dan" (People's Assistant), AI form-filling that scans birth certificates and ID cards into electronic forms, under People's Committee Plan 429/KH-UBND of 10 September 2026. In Yen Binh, 9 computers handled 159 dossiers across 41 procedures in two-plus weeks, pre-filling around 60-80% of some forms while officers check each entry. Since 15 September, Yen Bai ward has applied the automated data entry to 19 procedures and 324 online dossiers; land and construction cases are excluded.

Quang Tri pilots a "People's Assistant" AI for public-service applications
Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee — Quang Tri province is trialling an AI public service assistant, "Trợ lý nhân dân" (People's Assistant), from 1 to 31 October 2026 at the provincial Public Administrative Service Centre and the Dong Thuan and Dong Ha ward centres. The tool explains procedures, conditions, documents and forms, reads citizens' papers and suggests how to complete each dossier, while officials check and decide every case. A 1–10 November review decides whether the digital helper continues, ends or expands.

National strategy on artificial intelligence to 2030 with vision to 2045
Prime Minister of Vietnam (Thủ tướng Chính phủ) — Vietnam's national AI strategy was approved on 28 August 2026, when the Prime Minister signed Decision 1671/QĐ-TTg approving the National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence to 2030 with a vision to 2045. Targets include a top-three ASEAN standing in AI R&D by 2030, a top-10 rank across Asia by 2045, and 100% of online public services integrated with AI. The plan drives AI transformation across governance—problem identification, design, organisation, operation—while building at least five shared national AI platforms and eight Vietnamese-language AI models.

Central steering committee for science technology innovation and digital transformation
Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam (Bộ Chính trị) — Vietnam's Politburo formed a 19-member Central Steering Committee for the Development of Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Transformation, chaired by Party General Secretary To Lam, reflecting a shift in Vietnam AI policy. Debuting 13 January 2025, it drives breakthrough science, technology and digital transformation measures, naming AI research and development a priority. It also oversees Resolution 57-NQ/TW, fixing AI as a strategic technology under the country's wider AI development and digital transformation strategy.
Vietnam's central bank issues binding rules for AI use in banking
State Bank of Vietnam — The State Bank of Vietnam's Governor signed Circular 53/2026/TT-NHNN on 30 September 2026, binding Vietnam AI regulation on safety, risk control and rollout conditions for AI across banking. Machine credit decisions on loans of 50 million dong or more rank as high-risk, and authority and responsibility stay with people. Payment intermediaries, credit information companies, foreign bank branches, mobile-money providers and credit institutions fall under the banking AI rules from 15 November 2026.

Vietjet deploys AI recruitment system for cabin crew hiring
Vietjet Air — Vietjet Air now runs AI recruitment for cabin crew hiring, becoming Vietnam's first carrier to fold artificial intelligence into staff selection. A pair of tools drives the workflow: AI Interview builds tailored questions from an applicant's background and rates language ability, teamwork and customer service, whereas AI Grooming Check inspects appearance. The Vietjet Aviation Academy hosted the debut round on 12 April 2025.
KIDO triples Mid-Autumn revenue using AI for livestream sales and content
KIDO Group — KIDO Group's Mid-Autumn 2025 sales tripled from a year earlier once it turned to AI livestream sales and machine-generated marketing content across the business. A digital avatar hosted a broadcast lasting beyond 250 unbroken hours, drawing 19 million viewers and shifting more than 180,000 items while a single staffer kept watch over the feed. TV ad spots emerged 60% quicker and at almost 40% less expense thanks to the same push into machine-generated marketing content. Afterward the firm set up AIRO, a separate AI arm handling sales and marketing, on 30 December 2025.
Vietnam's first AI law comes into force with three risk tiers
National Assembly of Vietnam — Vietnam's first standalone AI law took effect on 1 March 2026, enacted on 10 December 2025, grading AI systems high, medium or low risk by effect on safety and human rights, field of application, user scope and scale of effect. Providers must tag AI-generated audio, image and video in machine-readable form, and deployers must flag it where it might blur whether events or people are real. Baker McKenzie says most existing providers and deployers have until 1 March 2027, and the Ministry of Science and Technology will issue implementing guidance.

Every entry on this page is a named organisation putting AI to work in a real job, taken from the State of Applied AI record. Each one is traced to the report it came from and dated, and where a figure is the organisation’s own the entry says so rather than presenting it as an independent result. Readiness, ecosystem and policy figures, where shown, are attributed on the card to the body that published them.
The record is maintained continuously by the Industrial Research Unit of the Straits Institute for Applied AI: entries are added as they are found and verified, not on a schedule, and nothing is published without an open source behind it. It currently holds 4731 entries across 249 countries.
