Palau Social Security Administration deploys AI compliance tool
Republic of Palau Social Security Administration (ROPSSA) — Carnegie Mellon University consultants helped build an AI compliance tool now running at the Republic of Palau Social Security Administration (ROPSSA) and its Health Care Fund. Large language models paired with retrieval-augmented generation speed up drafting and let staff verify adherence to the Palau National Code. Paper-bound guidance is now a searchable web resource, an early case of AI regulatory compliance automation in a Pacific island government agency.
Policy on the use of artificial intelligence in the courts
Supreme Court of Palau — The Supreme Court of Palau adopted a Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Courts, opening AI in the courts to lawyers, judges, court staff and self-represented litigants for legal research and writing, citing efficiency and access to justice. AI use carries accountability for accuracy and legality; an AI-generated error excuses no misleading or defective submission. Confidential communications and personal and health information are protected, and judicial decisions stay with judges.

Method and sources
Every entry on this page is a named organisation putting AI to work in a real job, taken from the State of Applied AI record. Each one is traced to the report it came from and dated, and where a figure is the organisation’s own the entry says so rather than presenting it as an independent result. Readiness, ecosystem and policy figures, where shown, are attributed on the card to the body that published them.
The record is maintained continuously by the Industrial Research Unit of the Straits Institute for Applied AI: entries are added as they are found and verified, not on a schedule, and nothing is published without an open source behind it. It currently holds 4364 entries across 249 countries.
