Financial Services Authority (OJK) — OJK's Buku Panduan Tata Kelola Kecerdasan Artifisial Perbankan Indonesia (Artificial Intelligence Governance for Indonesian Banks) sets out supervisory expectations for commercial lenders adopting AI in banking, published on 29 April 2025 by Otoritas Jasa Keuangan. Institutions are expected to form a dedicated AI committee, apply controls across the full model lifecycle, conduct stress testing and validation, and keep humans in the loop for oversight. The document carries no binding force for AI governance for banks, yet OJK treats it as a reference point when examining banks' risk management practices.
Financial Services Authority (OJK) — OJK, Indonesia's financial regulator, released the Guidelines for Responsible and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence Ethics in the Financial Technology Industry with four fintech associations. Four pillars underpin AI in fintech oversight: beneficial, fair, accountable, transparent, explicable, robust, secure. The non-binding code covers digital lending, payments and insurtech, signalling artificial intelligence oversight in financial technology rather than binding rules.
Indonesia's nutrition agency trials AI CCTV in 70 free-meal kitchens
National Nutrition Agency (BGN) — Indonesia's National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is testing AI CCTV food safety monitoring in about 70 kitchens serving MBG meals. Footage from these kitchen compliance cameras feeds a hub where AI spots procedure lapses, from cooking to tray cleaning and worker behaviour, BGN chief Sudaryono said.
