Bhutan starts three-year AI literacy drive in remote schools

Teachers of Bhutan Volunteers / Ministry of Education and Skills Development — The DigiGyel Project began in Thimphu, a three-year push to carry AI literacy into Bhutan's high schools, with more than 150 remote schools first in line. More than 50,000 students and 300 teachers are to be taught AI skills, and more than 800 laptops go out nationwide, 260 reaching the education ministry at the start. The Switzerland-based NGO Dariu Foundation pays for the artificial intelligence training, run by Teachers of Bhutan Volunteers.

Bhutan's health ministry endorses AI ECG rollout to 25 facilities

Ministry of Health of Bhutan — Bhutan's Ministry of Health will place Cardiolife's AI ECG interpretation software in 25 health facilities - national, regional, district - after Health Minister Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuk backed the plan. Software and kit arrive free; clinicians read ECGs instantly. Cardiolife rates its CE-marked MDR Class IIb product at up to 100% accuracy on key cardiac conditions, a vendor figure with no independent evaluation published. Validation comes through a joint operational research study of the AI-assisted cardiac diagnostics.
