UNAPCICT trains Turkmenistan's policymakers and civil servants in AI

Government of Turkmenistan — UNAPCICT/ESCAP, the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development, ran 'AI Essentials for Policymakers and Civil Servants', a two-day executive programme, in Ashgabat on 7-8 July. This AI training for civil servants gave senior officials governance, strategic oversight and risk-management skills for responsible AI across government and industry. Such public-sector AI upskilling comes while Turkmenistan works on its National AI Strategy.

Turkmenistan customs launches AI assistant on trade portal

State Customs Service of Turkmenistan — AI in customs and trade compliance is now live on Turkmenistan's Single Window for Export-Import Operations portal, where the State Customs Service added an assistant handling several administrative tasks at once. Turkmenistan drafts its first National AI Strategy with UNDP support

Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan — Turkmenistan AI strategy groundwork is underway, led by the Ministry of Communications with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) assistance toward a national artificial intelligence policy. A reviewed draft fixed priority directions under the State Program for the Development of the Digital Economy for 2026-2028. Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan — Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan has phased in its home-built Electronic University platform since September, adding AI academic analytics.
