French Polynesia publishes AI charter for government agents

Government of French Polynesia — French Polynesia now has a charter for AI use by government employees, covering research, note-taking, drafting and translation. Vice-President Minarii Galenon signed the rules, barring staff from entering sensitive data into unapproved tools. Binding decisions stay with people, not AI in the public sector, unless a human supervises.

French Polynesia to test generative AI for legal text consolidation

Government of French Polynesia — French Polynesia's government will pilot AI-driven legal text consolidation through the SGG, the Secrétariat général du gouvernement. The system will scan the Lexpol database to catch contradictions built up across years and group related rules by subject, supporting legislative codification. President Moetai Brotherson called it a test to evaluate before wider rollout.
