tacabAI — tacabAI now runs an AI-driven agriculture platform for smallholders across Somalia and East Africa, blending soil and crop sensing with photo-based disease diagnosis plus weather notifications. People can reach it by voice, text or picture and get answers in Somali, Swahili or English, easing access to AI farming advice.
Vacampo — Uruguay's Vacampo built CropIA, an AI precision agriculture tool overseeing 15,000 hectares. Satellites feed crop status, harvest trends and nutrient math into forecasts, giving growers an evidence-driven route to farm choices via AI in farming.
Royal Greenland — A computer vision AI for shrimp quality control, built by Royal Greenland with Trifork, cuts prawn inspection from 3-4 minutes to about 10 seconds per sample, at 95% accuracy on counting and recognition. Cameras judge colour and weight, replacing manual handling. Live at Cuxhaven, the AI-based prawn inspection system extends to Ilulissat, a Greenland site short of workers.
Rice Research Institute, Nukus / Uzbek agricultural authorities — A two-hectare AGRINOZE trial at Karakalpakstan's Rice Research Institute in Nukus cut water use by half without any fertiliser, holding yields steady. Buried sensors track soil conditions and pass readings to a machine-learning model, which times and doses drip-fed water and nutrients on its own — an AI-driven precision irrigation approach now piloted elsewhere in Uzbekistan. The result shows how an AI-powered irrigation system can shrink resource use while keeping output constant.
Agencia Espacial del Paraguay (AEP) — Small and medium growers in Paraguay gained a new AI in agriculture resource on 12 November 2025, when Paraguay Space Agency (AEP) unveiled Guaraní Insights: satellite readings on crop health and water stress from public imagery. Three phone-screen buttons unlock cloud-processed precision farming output built on a four-year archive, sharpening irrigation, pest alerts and harvest scheduling.
Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture — Under Saudi Arabia's Nama system, two AI agriculture platforms have gone live, backed by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and already reaching over 1.6 million users. Slaughterhouses and broader protein supply chains sit under one tool's watch; crop demand projections for sustainable farming come from the other.
National Livestock Development Board — 480,000 coconut palms at Adigama farm, Dambadeniya, are now being scanned from the air under a National Livestock Development Board pilot, Sri Lanka's first attempt at AI coconut plantation management. Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security — Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has rolled out the Nigeria Agricultural Intelligence Platform (NAIP), an AI advisory tool built with Pixels Solutions for AI in agriculture. Farmers get weather outlooks, market guidance and agronomic tips, plus USSD access for rural areas without smartphones.
Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) — El Salvador's Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) runs AI crop monitoring through MIRA (Monitoreo Inteligente de la Red Agropecuaria), pairing Google satellite imagery with Google Cloud Platform processing to track crop health, flag droughts and floods, and estimate losses. Multispectral drones and IA models generate early warnings, directing response teams to the worst-hit zones. This farm monitoring system converts raw imagery into alerts.
Sang Hyang Seri — One worker now replaces a crew of ten, according to pilot Adam Dalah Agung, since Indonesia's state rice producer Sang Hyang Seri (SHS) began flying XAG P100 Pro units over 15 hectares of paddies. This effort, part of a wider shift toward AI-powered drones for rice farming, lets the machines handle spraying and fertiliser spreading without manual control, sharply cutting the labour once demanded by such tasks. Dialog Axiata — Farmers and home gardeners across Sri Lanka can now reach Govi Mithuru, Dialog Axiata's AI agriculture advisory service, through trilingual chat, voice interaction, photo-based pest detection, or a Sinhala-English call line at 616. All channels deliver expert-verified answers in Sinhala, Tamil and English, part of Dialog's latest step in AI-driven farming support.
JPI Farms — Zero round-the-clock monitoring, 22 hectares of peppers: JPI Farms, a Canadian greenhouse business, now runs Blue Radix's Crop Controller — an AI crop controller — full-time, having piloted it in 2023. Owner John Giesbrecht calls the autonomous growing tool a genuine "stress reliever". Cucumbers grow there too, bound for buyers in Canada and the United States.
Gouvernorat de La Manouba — Sensors now line artesian wells in Tunisia's El-Jedida delegation, feeding salinity, temperature and flow readings into an AI irrigation pilot run by La Manouba governorate. Algorithms cross-check this stream against satellite imagery to hand farmers exact watering guidance, cutting waste and lifting soil condition. PRIMA, the international funder, contributes 45,000 euros yearly out of a 2.6 million euro total, and a matching trial in Gabès governorate offers a comparison point for smart water management using AI.
Van Noord Growers — Eternal.ag's Harvester runs day and night for Van Noord Growers, a Zeeland tomato producer: autonomous tomato harvesting in greenhouse rows up to 22 hours daily, all week. Vision software judges ripeness per truss and cuts it free unaided. Trial success has the grower planning three robots for wider automated greenhouse harvesting.
Belize Forest Department — The Belize Forest Department and the Ministry of Sustainable Development launched three tools for AI forest monitoring, developed with the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Each analyses satellite imagery: land use cover map, near-real-time fire monitoring system and national mangrove cover map spanning 2020 to 2024. Agrosuper — Reaching over 55 thousand small shops, minimarkets and butcheries nationwide, MAI (Modelo de Atención Inteligente) gives Agrosuper's field reps a data-driven answer to an old logistics puzzle: whom to call on next. Chile's largest food producer built the AI in retail sales optimisation engine by cross-referencing billing volume, buying patterns and each outlet's location, then ranking visit priority and frequency for AI-driven sales targeting for small retailers. Coverage and service quality have both climbed since, though only company-reported figures back that claim.
Government of Kazakhstan — Kazakhstan plans a major expansion of AI satellite monitoring of farmland, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said on 8 September 2025. The upgraded system will assess soil quality, harvest volumes, and crop spread nationwide, with the same AI-driven land monitoring extended to forestry. A single digital land-resource map combining cadastral records is also planned.
Pupuk Kujang — A state-owned fertiliser producer in Indonesia, Pupuk Kujang Cikampek, has rolled out an AI farming assistant named Plantastic, an AI agricultural app reachable through WhatsApp to give growers instant guidance. Farmers can pose questions on fertiliser dosing and crop nutrition, or send pictures of ailing plants so the system can diagnose the problem and suggest a remedy. The company's own innovation team built the tool, unveiled at the Festinov 2025 conference.
Beef + Lamb New Zealand — Beef + Lamb New Zealand's new AI farming assistant, Bella, gives tailored guidance drawn solely from the B+LNZ Knowledge Hub: about 4,600 pages plus 220-plus hours of podcasts and video. Over two months, more than 100 testers, farmers, students and advisors among them, checked its answers before launch. Bella takes spoken questions in several languages, including Te Reo Māori and Filipino, functioning as a multilingual voice-based advisory tool for the sector.
Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS) — Malaysia's Padiberas Nasional Berhad (BERNAS) is piloting Project Rakan Tani, WhatsApp-based AI in paddy farming, within BERNAS's SMART Large-Scale Farming programme. Built with the National AI Office and Ministry of Agriculture, this AI farming assistant tailors hyper-personalised, real-time pest control, fertiliser and planting advice to each field, forecast and crop stage.
Wyke Farms — Wyke Farms, the UK's largest independent cheese producer, runs AI birdsong analysis across 10 South West England farms to gauge biodiversity. The three-year Birdsong for Biodiversity project with Chirrup.ai converts bird calls into species richness and ecosystem health readings, making Wyke Farms the first dairy processor using bioacoustic monitoring under the UK Dairy Roadmap.
Agro Prom — Armenia's Agro Prom runs an AI-powered greenhouse in Nor Yedesia where thousands of tomato plants are watched for disease, pests and ripeness with no human checks needed. Harvests already reach 18 to 20 tonnes a day, shipped onward to Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania and the UAE, and the firm hopes to push that total to 40 tonnes as the site expands. A patrolling machine hunts down insects, while an automated drip network handles all watering and feeding for the crop, an early example of AI in agriculture taking root locally.
Dundalk Bay Seafoods — Dundalk Bay Seafoods, a Co Louth family processor, runs Ireland's first AI-powered shellfish grader, scanning 10 seafood pieces per second via laser and machine vision. This AI shellfish grading system detects soft shells, cracks, sand and contaminants undamaged, starting with Dublin Bay Prawns and Razor Clams, backed by a €213,000 Seafood Development Programme grant.
Secretaría de Agricultura, Ganadería y Pesca — Argentina's Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries has validated an AI method for soybean variety identification, using high-definition image processing on seed samples for real-time analysis. It determines predominant varieties and their proportions, reinforcing traceability and Seed Law enforcement. Seed variety classification starts at the Central Seed Analysis Laboratory.
Bayer México — Carlota, Bayer México's AI irrigation tool, sends WhatsApp irrigation advice to farmers in 16 Mexican states. This AI-powered irrigation advisory system uses satellite imagery, field sensors, predictive algorithms and big data; its 257-device network cut water use 30% on average, saving 14 million-plus cubic metres to date.
LAXEY — AI fish weight measurement replaces manual sample weighing at LAXEY's Icelandic sites, under a multi-year deal with Canadian firm ReelData for its ReelWeight cameras, an AI-powered camera system for salmon farming. Over 300 fish are scanned hourly, building on July 2025 trials. LAXEY will next pilot ReelAppetite, ReelData's AI feed-optimisation software.
Jets Sdn Bhd — Near the Muara port town in Brunei Darussalam, Jets Sdn Bhd has unveiled what it calls Southeast Asia's first net-zero-emission AI shrimp farm. Solar arrays supply energy while automated systems oversee blue shrimp breeding, blending renewable power with eco-friendly production methods under the AI in aquaculture approach. The firm describes the venture as a breakthrough for the nation's fisheries sector.
Connect Kisan — Farmers in Nepal can now speak their agricultural questions in Nepali to Connect Kisan's mobile app and hear spoken answers on topics from pest control to fertiliser choice, watering schedules and current market prices, an early step in AI voice advisory for Nepali farmers. Developed alongside Diyo AI, this AI-based farm advisory tool has already logged more than 2,000 queries in its opening phase.
Ariston Private Limited — Ariston Private Limited runs AI-powered sorting for macadamia nuts at its Chipinge estates. A camera photographs every kernel to spot flaws and rank quality, an AI-powered nut scanning method sorting produce by grade for buyers abroad.
Ministry of Agriculture of Jordan — Jordan's Ministry of Agriculture, with GrowTech Jordan, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, JICA and Japan Development Service, launched an AI soil fertility project pairing satellite imagery with machine learning to gauge land quality for agriculture, an AI in agriculture soil analysis approach. Farmers get data-backed guidance on irrigation and fertiliser use, cutting waste on both. The scheme runs through December 2025.
United Ajod Insurance — AI livestock insurance is now live in three Nepali districts, Humla, Lalitpur and Achham, run by United Ajod Insurance on muzzle-pattern biometrics from a smartphone app photo. That image becomes each animal's unique identifier, letting PlantSat's technology automatically match post-mortem pictures against the original record to settle claims. Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT — Bruno, a camera-equipped robotic cart, gauges plant height, leaf spread and colour for the Artemis Project, rolled out by the Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT to bring AI crop breeding to Uganda. Nitrofert — Nitrofert has released IngeDati, an AI in agriculture tool giving Colombian farmers crop-specific nutrition guidance across eight crops: coffee and rice, potato and banana, sugar cane, oil palm, citrus, plus pasture. A transformer-based architecture drives the system, built on recorded fieldwork and agronomic expertise, and farmers reach it via browser on ordinary phones rather than special equipment. Field tests under real growing conditions preceded launch, making this agricultural AI assistant a stand-in for in-person technical visits.
NIBIO — Slashing herbicide volumes by up to 90 percent, without sacrificing cereal output: that is the result the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research reported from trials of DAT Ecopatch, a camera-driven tool for AI precision spraying. Its onboard vision distinguishes weeds from crop plants, releasing chemicals selectively instead of blanketing whole fields. Growers across Norway are already snapping up this weed-targeting spray technology.
Agrix Tech — Agrix Tech's AI crop disease diagnosis app is giving Cameroonian farmers instant plant health readings, applying convolutional neural networks to photographed leaves to flag cassava mosaic virus, banana leaf spot and similar infections within 10 seconds at 95% accuracy. Offline functionality means the tool keeps working without connectivity, and it speaks French, English, Bamiléké, Hausa and further regional languages. Farmers trained by the startup reached 7,000 by April 2025 across the West and Northwest regions, with 5,000 users actively relying on this AI-driven plant disease detection tool; those users saw harvests rise 20-25% while cutting excess pesticide use by 30%.
Stift Klosterneuburg — Vitibot's electric Bakus now tends Stift Klosterneuburg's rows, Austria's debut in AI-assisted viticulture. Lighter and quieter than a tractor, the French-built machine loosens soil, mows grass, trims leaves and clears between vines after dark, easing compaction. A 75kWh charge keeps it running near ten hours, showcasing robotic vineyard management at one of the country's oldest estates.
TechForward Tanzania — TechForward Tanzania rolled out Kilimotech Chatbot, an AI chatbot for farmers and livestock keepers, on WhatsApp. Users get immediate guidance in Swahili or English on financing, market prices, soil health, crop production and disease control, and the farming chatbot detects crop disease from a submitted photo.
Arla Foods — Arla Foods now runs AI milk supply forecasting across northern Europe, shrinking a multi-day task into hours while boosting precision by 1.4% for output tied to 1.5 million cows. Weather patterns, farmers shifting between milk categories, and each farm's daily volume feed the Danish cooperative's system. This dairy production prediction approach already spans every market Arla operates within Europe.
Gyeonggi Agricultural Technology Institute — South Korea gets its first AI smart farming pilot as Gyeonggi Agricultural Technology Institute pairs orbital imagery with machine analysis across 120 rice paddies growing the province's 'Younjin' variety and 50 fields under the Yeoncheon soybean research association. Sharpness is the selling point: satellites resolve ground detail down to 0.7 metres, four times finer than the 3m benchmark previously used, feeding growers near-instant readings on how crops are developing — a precision agriculture approach the institute hopes to expand. No results from the trial have surfaced yet, and the provincial body has not said when a wider rollout might follow.
National Electronics and Computer Technology Centre (NECTEC) — NECTEC has rolled out HandySense B-Farm, a smart farming platform pairing artificial intelligence with sensors and IoT technology to steer farm management. China-Pakistan Joint Laboratory for Agriculture — About 1,000 growers across Punjab and Islamabad have taken up Kisan 360, an AI-powered farming app from the China-Pakistan Joint Laboratory for Agriculture. Orbital imagery supplies moisture and nitrogen figures to users' phones, and a chatbot tuned on DeepSeek handles their questions, while drones fitted with visual-recognition tech spot pests and gauge plant stress. Both Apple and Android users can download the AI agriculture app.
JA Toyohashi (Toyohashi Agricultural Cooperative) — Aichi Prefecture's JA Toyohashi cooperative in Japan has scrapped pheromone traps for AI pest prediction in agriculture, running the TENRYO app built by Mirai Saien. Staff now flag outbreaks by blending weather data with farmer sightings instead of counting traps, cutting trap-based pest forecasting labour by about 90 per cent, down from over 40 hours monthly. No other JA cooperative nationwide has gone this far.
GanaderIA — GanaderIA's AI-based livestock weighing app pairs drone imagery with algorithms to tally herds and estimate weights, under 5% margin of error, skipping physical scales. Uruguay's platform converts footage into batch averages and per-animal figures automatically — drone-based cattle counting that replaces manual handling with remote data capture.
Safaricom and Opportunity International — Safaricom and Opportunity International built FarmerAI, an AI chatbot for smallholder farmers in Kenya — an AI-driven farm advisory tool for potato growers, 800 to 1,000 of them, via WhatsApp on Safaricom's DigiFarm platform, covering weather, fertiliser, pests and prices. The trial spans February to August 2025.
In a four-year on-farm strip trial (2020–2023) on four heterogeneous arable fields totalling 49 hectares in Germany, sensor-based variable-rate nitrogen in winter wheat lifted overall nitrogen efficiency 15% and cut nitrogen fertiliser by up to 38 kg per hectare a year. The benefit was inconsistent: not every field beat uniform fertilisation.
In 2024 replicated trials of beet, spinach and pea at two US research stations, autonomous deep-learning laser weeding cut weed biomass by at least 97% against untreated controls and equalled or beat conventional herbicides. Laser-weeded peas out-yielded a bentazon plus imazethapyr programme by 15%. Manufacturer Carbon Robotics donated and ran the laser unit.
