Jordan gives its government an AI-generated spokesperson called Farah
Government of Jordan — Jordan's government has introduced Farah, an AI government spokesperson created as a virtual character, to inform citizens and others, explain decisions and policies and speed official news, says Government Communications Minister Mohammad Al-Momani. Farah has an Instagram account, and Al-Momani later announced an English-language version of the virtual spokesperson.

Jordan bars public bodies from altering national symbols with AI
Prime Ministry (Jordan) — Jordan's government has barred ministries, public institutions, state universities, municipalities, Greater Amman Municipality and government-owned companies from using AI to produce or alter flags, seals, official photographs, sovereign symbols or national emblems in ways that affect authenticity or approved form. The Jordan AI regulation also bans publishing or adopting AI-compromised symbols or seals; government AI rules require the original approved versions.

Jordan's AI study assistant Siraj reaches a million students
Ministry of Education (Jordan) — Jordan's Ministry of Education counts over a million students and 100,000 teachers using Siraj, the AI learning assistant launched by the ministry in October 2025. Students put questions, get curriculum-tied explanations and revise for exams; teachers draft explanations and create curriculum-linked questions and activities, with integration into the ministry's learning management systems under way.

Jordan requires AI disclosure in digital media content
Government of Jordan — Jordan's Regulation No. 13 of 2026, the Digital Media Regulation Bylaw, now imposes AI disclosure in digital media on every licensed operator. Article 18 bars AI-generated fake, misleading, inciting or hateful output and requires consent before personal data trains AI systems. Binding from 23 May 2026 under Media Commission oversight, following Council of Ministers approval on 5 April and Official Gazette publication on 23 April, it is Jordan's first such AI transparency rule.

Jordan Artificial Intelligence Strategy and Implementation Plan 2023-2027
Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, approved by the Cabinet — A national roadmap now anchors Jordan AI policy: the Cabinet has signed off on the AI Strategy and Implementation Plan 2023-2027, aiming to position the kingdom among regional leaders in artificial intelligence. Priorities include growing homegrown expertise, funding research, attracting entrepreneurial investment and putting safeguards around responsible AI use. Officials also want AI deployed to sharpen efficiency across government and other priority industries, extending AI in public sector efficiency more broadly.

National Artificial Intelligence Code of Ethics
Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, approved by the Council of Ministers — Jordan's Council of Ministers signed off on the National Artificial Intelligence Code of Ethics, giving the Kingdom one moral baseline for AI systems, rooted in local religious and societal norms and matched to the UNESCO AI Ethics Recommendation. Jordan AI regulation now rests on seven named pillars: humanity/society, inclusiveness/justice, privacy/data, transparency, accountability/responsibility, reliability/integrity/authenticity, and environmental sustainability. This makes ethical AI development a formal goal of national policy.

Jordanian Artificial Intelligence Policy 2020
Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, approved by the Council of Ministers — Jordan's Council of Ministers fixed the country's Jordan AI policy, adopted 20 December 2020, covering every major part of the economy and readying legal, regulatory and technical foundations for wider use of this Jordanian artificial intelligence strategy. Five strands hold the plan together: oversight structures, rules and legislation, digital networks, conditions for business and investment, and skills-building. Implementation sits with a new National Ministerial Committee for Artificial Intelligence, led by the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
Jordan launches AI soil fertility project using satellite imagery
Ministry of Agriculture of Jordan — Jordan's Ministry of Agriculture, with GrowTech Jordan, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, JICA and Japan Development Service, launched an AI soil fertility project pairing satellite imagery with machine learning to gauge land quality for agriculture, an AI in agriculture soil analysis approach. Farmers get data-backed guidance on irrigation and fertiliser use, cutting waste on both. The scheme runs through December 2025.
Jordan's central bank issues AI regulatory framework for banking
Central Bank of Jordan — Lenders in Jordan face fresh duties on governance, risk controls and data privacy after the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) rolled out an AI regulatory framework for banking. Institutions must keep AI models under constant scrutiny and staff dedicated units with clear accountability. A Steering Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Emerging and Future Technologies takes charge of rollout, tying this to wider AI governance in the banking sector.

Queen Alia Heart Center deploys AI-integrated ARC device for ICU
Queen Alia Heart Institute (Royal Medical Services) — An AI-integrated ICU monitoring system, the ARC device, now runs in the Queen Alia Heart Institute's open-heart surgery unit under Jordan's Royal Medical Services — a regional first cleared by the US Food and Drug Administration. Wired into ventilators, infusion pumps, dialysis machines and electronic medical records, it merges bedside readings into one picture for faster clinical response. Officials call it a milestone for AI in intensive care, meant to sharpen urgent decisions after staff training.

Jordan uses AI to find leaks across its water networks
Ministry of Water and Irrigation — Jordan's Smart Transformation Project for Water and Wastewater Services Management applies AI water leak detection to its networks, ministers Raed Abu Saud (Water and Irrigation) and Sami Smirat (Digital Economy) were told at the Dabouq Operations Centre. Abu Saud called it the Kingdom's first such project, with pilot areas showing lower pressure, smaller losses and better distribution. AI analysis of consumption and demand lets the Water Authority of Jordan and water companies detect supply imbalances sooner and move affected areas onto alternative sources.
