Morocco trains public prosecutors on AI and human rights
Presidency of the Public Prosecutor's Office (Morocco) — Morocco's Presidency of the Public Prosecutor's Office held a two-day AI training for prosecutors in Fez with the Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance (DCAF). Crime-fighting uses were weighed against privacy, data protection, human oversight and accountability. The prosecution judges' AI course belongs to a 2026-2028 strategic plan.

Moroccan police put AI-equipped patrol vehicles on Rabat's streets
General Directorate of National Security (DGSN, Morocco) — Morocco's national police (DGSN) have deployed two home-designed AI patrol vehicles, Amane and Madar, in Rabat, with Casablanca and Tangier next before wider rollout. The smart patrol cars' 360-degree cameras feed real-time facial recognition and automatic number-plate reading through AI algorithms for instant checks; officers trained first, the DGSN says.
High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA) — Ahead of Morocco's September 2026 legislative elections, regulator HACA (the High Council for Audiovisual Communication) issued Decision No. 50-26, barring broadcasters from airing electoral material generated or altered by artificial intelligence that risks misleading citizens. This Morocco AI regulation still allows synthetic material for teaching or explanatory purposes, provided it carries a permanent, unmistakable label flagging its AI origin under the new AI-generated electoral content rules. The measure sits within wider guidance the regulator has set for election-period media coverage.

Morocco's tax authority will pilot AI property comparables in two cities
General Directorate of Taxes (DGI, Morocco) — Morocco's General Directorate of Taxes announced on 18 February an AI property valuation trial using public property-price comparables in Rabat and Casablanca, built with Moroccan start-up Yakeey. Director general Younes Idrissi Kaitouni reports approval and signed contracts, and the price comparables should end valuations varying by inspector in property and transfer-pricing audits.

Organic Law No. 53.25 criminalising AI election offences
House of Representatives and King of Morocco — Morocco's Organic Law No. 53.25, reworking Organic Law No. 27.11 on the House of Representatives, now lists "artificial intelligence tools" as a possible instrument for election crimes. Anyone who deploys such tools to circulate fabricated content or false news aimed at damaging candidates or electoral integrity risks two to five years behind bars under this AI election law. Deputies passed the measure on 1 December 2025, the Constitutional Court validated it on 24 December 2025, and Dahir No. 1.25.70 sealed the electoral integrity legislation into force.

Moroccan Ministry of National Education, Pre-School and Sports — Morocco's Ministry of National Education will use AI exam cheating detection devices to find and block suspicious communications in baccalaureate examination centres for the session opening in early June 2026.
