Iran's AI law sorts systems into four risk tiers
Islamic Consultative Assembly (Majlis), Iran — Iran's parliament speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, has sent the National AI Development Law to the government, and Iran AI regulation now bands systems as low, limited, high or very high risk. Which of the four bands a system lands in turns on transparency, privacy, employment and public health. A National AI Organisation answering straight to the president will carry the AI risk rules, and a security assessment centre must publish results every six months.

Iran's judiciary pilots an AI case system that answers judges' legal questions
Judiciary of Iran, Statistics and Information Technology Centre — Iran's judiciary unveiled 'Smart SAMP', an AI case management system first piloted in three provinces, South Khorasan, Qom and Lorestan, from Dey 1404 (late December 2025 to January 2026). Judges each get an assistant that answers legal queries using legal sources and harmonises precedents and advisory opinions, while smart tools handle case referral and expert-review assignment, says the judiciary's statistics and IT centre head.

Iran deploys AI assistant for the President and cabinet

Divar adds AI sales assistant that handles bargaining for sellers
Divar — Iran's classifieds platform Divar now lets دستیار فروش, its AI sales assistant, field buyer calls and haggle over prices on sellers' behalf. Within limits sellers define upfront, the tool chats or talks around the clock and fixes viewing appointments without human input. Each national ID unlocks one free run; further use costs ۴۹ هزار تومان on ordinary listings and ۶۹ هزار تومان on job ads under this automated bargaining tool.
