Qatar's prosecutors take inmate requests through AI-supported kiosks

Public Prosecution (Qatar) — Qatar's Public Prosecution and the Ministry of Interior have launched AI self-service kiosks letting inmates of penal and correctional institutions lodge requests by speaking in their preferred language. Requests reach the Execution of Judgments Prosecution, which reviews, decides and replies through the same AI system, and inmates can view case reports and follow each step.

Qatar Customs launches AI tariff classification and agentic services

General Authority of Customs (Qatar) — Qatar's General Authority of Customs launched AI customs classification and other AI services on 26 January 2026, opened by the finance minister on International Customs Day. Smart Harmonized System classification proposes the tariff code from the first shipment-data entry, pre-classification hints speed and sharpen customs officers' decisions, and an agentic AI service and customs-information virtual assistant join them.

Qatar's cabinet secretariat launches an AI adviser for drafting laws

Council of Ministers Secretariat General (Qatar) — Qatar's Council of Ministers Secretariat General opened the first phase of its 'Smart Legislative Advisor', an AI legislative drafting tool built with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The legal-drafting AI checks drafts against regional and international laws, tests consistency with the constitution and current legislation, and handles language and proofreading review, supporting legislative professionals rather than replacing them.
