Albania puts its first AI law out for public consultation

National Agency for the Information Society (AKSHI) — Albania's National Agency for the Information Society has put a first draft of Albania AI regulation to public consultation, running 29 May to 26 June 2026. The proposed draft law on artificial intelligence runs to nine chapters, 106 articles and 13 annexes, closely following EU Regulation 2024/1689 by grading systems on risk, banning manipulative or social-scoring uses outright, and layering heavy technical and governance duties onto anything rated high-risk. Only 1.8% of Albanian firms are using AI, minister says

Ministry of Economy and Innovation (Albania) — Economy and Innovation Minister Delina Ibrahimaj told Tirana's Second Innovation Forum that AI adoption covers just 1.8% of Albanian enterprises, or 9% counting firms able to use it as well as those already doing so. Albania clears ChatGPT for teachers and pupils in every school
