Lithuania to open AI regulatory sandbox with €3m EU funding

Lithuania's State Pathology Centre adopts AI to score breast-cancer HER2

Valstybinis patologijos centras (Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos) — Lithuania's State Pathology Centre, part of Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos, has adopted Ibex Breast HER2, AI digital pathology that helps pathologists score the HER2 biomarker in breast cancer. Santaros Klinikos calls it the first CE-IVDR certified algorithm of its kind in the Baltic states.

Vilniaus viešasis transportas — Vilniaus viešasis transportas, public transport operator for Lithuania's capital, now uses AI customer service for its 50 to 100 daily passenger enquiries. Built with IT firm Nortus on a Microsoft platform in four weeks, it uses Gemini to read free-text letters, extract key facts, log them in the central database and draft replies.
