Belarus says its customs service will read declarations by machine vision

State Customs Committee of Belarus — Belarus's State Customs Committee plans a customs AI application shifting from electronic to "intelligent" processing, applying machine vision to shipping and commercial paperwork attached to declarations. The system will read and cross-check these documents against the declaration, plus scan vehicle images to match each vehicle against its past crossings and similar vehicles, flagging discrepancies to officers. This border control automation targets document and vehicle verification, surfacing anomalies for human review.

Minsk plans AI agent-bots for the 115.bel housing hotline

Minsk City Executive Committee — Minsk will add AI contact centre agents to the 115.bel housing hotline before the year is out, said Maksim Bardovich, who directs the Minsk City Executive Committee's Information Technology Centre. The agent-bots should shorten how long a request takes to handle and an answer to draft, sparing residents a queue. The hotline logged over 850,000 reports in the first half of 2026, routing them to city services.

Belgeodesiya maps Belarus's buildings by machine learning in 40 districts

Belgeodesiya — Belgeodesiya is putting AI building recognition into the digital foundation of the State Navigation Map of the Republic of Belarus, per the State Property Committee. Accuracy runs from 65 to 90 per cent, varying with how many storeys a structure has. Settlements across 40 administrative districts have gone through satellite-image building detection, thickening the map's Buildings layer.

Belarusian pupils start studying artificial intelligence from 1 September

Ministry of Education of Belarus — Belarus grades six to nine now cover AI in schools under Ministry of Education resolution No. 132, dated 22 July 2026, effective 1 September 2026. Grade eight gets a unit explaining how AI systems in the classroom function and guiding pupils toward responsible, appropriate use, across 139 weekly hours total.

Belarus's degree commission makes researchers declare their AI prompts

Higher Attestation Commission of Belarus — Belarus's Higher Attestation Commission has made AI disclosure in dissertations compulsory. Deputy chair Denis Kapskiy says the descriptive section must list the prompts an author ran and where artificial intelligence was involved. Antiplagiat, one of the standard packages used, flags the specific elements where neural networks were applied. Several 2025 dissertations already used machine learning, Kapskiy notes, with declared AI prompts and reasoned argument.

Neural networks sit in 21% of Belarusian companies' processes

rabota.by research centre — Neural networks already run inside business processes at 21% of firms polled by the rabota.by research centre, with 13% intending to adopt artificial intelligence. The centre questioned 2,199 service users in November 2025, from specialists to owners, mapping AI in Belarusian business. Positive feeling towards workplace neural networks reaches 56%, and 43% already draft text, answer professional queries or produce content. Employers apply them mainly in marketing analytics, planning, forecasting, production, staff training and customer service.

Minsk radiologists to get AI reading of chest X-rays

Belarus Ministry of Health — Belarus's Ministry of Health will put AI chest X-ray reading into Minsk healthcare institutions from the middle of 2026, for digital chest radiography. Elena Krotkova, who directs the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Pulmonology and Phthisiology, says trained neural networks will stop specialists overlooking minimal pathological changes on an image. A radiologist still reads and signs off every picture, and the ministry intends AI radiology support to reach all regions later.

Half of Belarusian jobseekers now use AI in their search

praca.by — AI job search runs deep among Belarusians, praca.by found: 29.5% do so routinely, 24.4% have tried neural networks on a vacancy at least once, and 20.7% mean to try. A quarter refuse outright. Of users, 63% build CVs and covering letters this way, 53% rehearse interviews, 47% dig into employers and 44% pick apart adverts. Only 12% would hand AI-assisted jobhunting the entire task.

Bellegprom sells knitwear and shoes designed with AI

Bellegprom — Belarus's Bellegprom has AI clothing design running at member factories, with the output already on shop shelves. Svitanka knitwear carries appliques and prints drawn that way; Belvest applies the same approach to footwear. Olga Grabenya, the concern's trade and marketing head, says such stock moves through Bellegprom's own branded network. Designers and technologists stay on, because AI-generated prints still need someone judging what shoppers want.

BelTA uses AI to animate archival photographs and build graphics

BelTA — BelTA has built AI photo restoration and video work into daily production, director general Andrei Mokhor told the 34th Council of Heads of CIS State News Agencies in St Petersburg. The Belarusian Telegraph Agency animates archival and historical photographs, produces colourised archive footage, generates billboards, posters and infographics, and upscales old frames for large-format exhibitions. Writing or editing copy stays off limits — Mokhor calls that a taboo.
