Over 70% of Bosnia's communications regulator staff use AI tools

Communications Regulatory Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina — More than 70 percent of staff at the Communications Regulatory Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina reach for artificial intelligence tools regularly or occasionally, an internal poll found. AI adoption in public administration outpaces the rulebook: the regulator is still drafting one, and no statute covers such work. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Election Commission and the Public Procurement Agency, whose chatbot fields queries on its eNabavke portal, report the same, marking AI use across state bodies.

Bosnia clears ratification of Council of Europe AI convention

Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina — The Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has cleared ratification of the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law, the earliest binding treaty anywhere on using artificial intelligence. Bosnia and Herzegovina AI regulation gains no home-grown statute: consent, carried in the Official Gazette - International Treaties number 5/26 of 9 July 2026, ties the state to an outside legal framework that institutions and later rules must deliver. Signature came on 9 December 2025 in Strasbourg, settling the terms of national AI oversight.

AI use reaches 22.1% of Bosnia and Herzegovina's working-age population

Microsoft AI Economy Institute — AI adoption in Bosnia and Herzegovina reached 22.1% of the working-age population in the first quarter of 2026, 2.6 points above 19.5% for the second half of 2025 and 18.2% for the half before. Worldwide the share moved from 16.3% to 17.8% over those months, on the Microsoft AI Economy Institute count. Its gauge tracks generative AI use among 15- to 64-year-olds, from pooled, anonymised Microsoft telemetry corrected for operating system, device-market share, internet reach and population.
