Humppila cut two director posts and handed the work to AI

Humppila municipality — Humppila has abolished its technical director and administrative director roles, leaving municipal manager Minna Ylikännö to cover part of the administrative brief with AI agents in local government. Those two deletions, tabled by the municipal board on 6 March, closed a 180,000-euro gap. Agendas and contract drafts are among the paperwork the software turns out. Ylikännö said on 18 September that town halls and employers must face municipal AI adoption trimming headcount.

Two Finnish wellbeing regions widen AI record-keeping across social care

Varsinais-Suomi and Satakunta wellbeing services counties — The Varsinais-Suomi and Satakunta wellbeing services counties launched joint work in June 2026 to take AI record-keeping in social care from pilots to full social welfare services. Finnish Police — Finland's Police University College built the FERMI project's new AI disinformation detection tool for flagging fake news before it spreads. Finland submits AI Act implementing legislation to parliament

Government of Finland — Government Proposal 46/2025 now sits before Finland's Parliament, establishing an Act on the Supervision of Certain AI Systems that transposes the EU AI Act into domestic law — the core of this Finland AI regulation.
