Länsi-Uusimaa starts an AI scribe across its health and social care
Länsi-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue — An AI scribe from Tandem Health reaches around 7,000 social and health care staff at Länsi-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue in Finland, phased in from September 2026 to end-2027. It drafts a note from each patient meeting for the clinician to check, amend and confirm. Care, clinical judgement and the file stay the practitioner's, whatever AI-assisted charting handles beforehand.

Two Finnish wellbeing regions widen AI record-keeping across social care
Varsinais-Suomi and Satakunta wellbeing services counties — The Varsinais-Suomi and Satakunta wellbeing services counties launched joint work in June 2026 to take AI record-keeping in social care from pilots to full social welfare services. Over 600 Varsinais-Suomi professionals created 30,000-plus AI-assisted records in the pilot, about 300 in Satakunta produced over 10,000 in 2026, and a tenfold rise in use is targeted by end-2027.
Every entry on this page is a named organisation putting AI to work in a real job, taken from the State of Applied AI record. Each one is traced to the report it came from and dated, and where a figure is the organisation’s own the entry says so rather than presenting it as an independent result. Readiness, ecosystem and policy figures, where shown, are attributed on the card to the body that published them.
The record is maintained continuously by the Industrial Research Unit of the Straits Institute for Applied AI: entries are added as they are found and verified, not on a schedule, and nothing is published without an open source behind it. It currently holds 1114 entries across 249 countries.
