Norway moves to ban AI glasses temporarily in parks, schools and gyms
Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance (Norway) — Norway's digitalisation ministry plans a temporary AI glasses ban at gathering spots such as beaches, parks, malls, museums and amusement parks, plus kindergartens, playgrounds, schools, youth clubs, children's events, gyms with changing rooms and health institutions. Minister Torgeir Micaelsen wants legislation before the Storting soon, warning wearers can photograph, film or record bystanders unnoticed. A specialist panel will later shape lasting national rules on camera eyewear, with exemptions planned for vulnerable groups.

Norway starts work on a new national AI strategy for 2027
Ministry of Digitalisation and Public Governance (Norway) — Norway's government is drafting a fresh national AI strategy, due in the first half of 2027, to replace the 2020 plan written under the Solberg government. Minister Torgeir Micaelsen says the new Norway AI policy will steer public bodies and private firms alike and shape cross-border cooperation over frontier models. Arbeidstilsynet launches multilingual AI chatbot for foreign workers
Arbeidstilsynet (Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority) — Arbeidstilsynet, Norway's Labour Inspection Authority, has launched an AI chatbot for foreign workers built on material drawn from arbeidstilsynet.no. The AI-powered assistant spans the regulator's entire area of responsibility and replies in 12 languages: Norwegian, English, Bulgarian, Estonian, French, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian, helping migrant employees get guidance in their own tongue. Digdir establishes KI Norge as national AI arena

Statistics Norway (SSB) — Generative AI adoption Norway: Statistics Norway puts the figure at 54 percent among Norwegians aged 16 to 79 in 2025, up from 36 percent in 2024. Businesses with ten or more staff show similar growth, with 30 percent using AI technologies, three times the 2023 rate. Firms without such tools mostly blame a shortage of relevant skills, cited by 77 percent.
