Greece's AI traffic cameras start issuing fines in Attica
Greek Ministry of Digital Governance and AI — Greece's Ministry of Digital Governance switched on pilot AI traffic cameras at eight high-risk points in Attica on 28 March 2026, certifying violations through the traffic police system and notifying drivers via gov.gr. Ministry of Interior and Google renew AI training for Greek civil servants

Greek data protection authority rules Smart Policing AI system unlawful

NOESIS Science Center and Technology Museum — Greece's first AI visitor assistant, NOE515, now stands at the ticket counter of Thessaloniki's NOESIS Science Center and Technology Museum, an AI-powered guide for museum-goers still being trialled in beta form. Built atop Google's Gemini and hosted locally rather than in the cloud, it quizzes each party on numbers attending, hours free and personal interests, pairing their answers with a fitting ticket and suggested walking route. Staff wrote the code in Go and HTML, aiming to switch it on fully come September 2025.

Core Innovations (Motor Oil Group) — Greece's first autonomous AI convenience store has opened in Nea Smyrni: Smartshop, run by Core Innovations, a Motor Oil Group subsidiary. This unmanned retail format uses computer vision and sensors to stay open unstaffed 23:00–07:00, with card payment and three-step checkout.
