Healthspan deploys AI chatbot achieving 90% resolution rate

England launches short apprenticeship units, three on AI leadership
England has created 'apprenticeship units', a new statutory class of short credential: 30 to 140 hours over 1 to 16 weeks, tied to existing occupational standards. Of the first ten units, published in April 2026, three cover AI leadership at Level 5, each 30 hours with up to £750 funding.

Only 37% of UK Skills Bootcamp starters achieved a positive outcome
Of 42,340 people who started a Wave 3 (2022–23) course in the UK's Skills Bootcamps programme, only 15,570 achieved a positive outcome, 37% of starters. While 54% of surveyed participants were promised a guaranteed employer interview, just 24% reported one offered or scheduled.

Reach plc, the UK's largest commercial news publisher, uses Guten, an in-house AI tool that turns trusted news-wire copy into stories for its titles, which journalists review before publication. At WAN-IFRA's Newsroom Summit, chief digital publisher David Higgerson said Guten cut breaking-news publishing from nine minutes to 90 seconds and supported about a quarter of output.
Uber and Wayve start autonomous rides on London's streets
Uber — Uber and Wayve have launched supervised autonomous rides in London, the first self-driving trips offered in the United Kingdom. Riders booking UberX, Uber Electric or Uber Comfort may be matched at no extra cost with a Wayve car, an all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E with Wayve AI Driver and surround sensors. Southeastern expands AI-powered thermal camera monitoring to more trains
Southeastern — South Eastern Railway has widened its use of AI-powered thermal camera monitoring, adding the sensors to 20 further Class 375 trains beyond the 12 Class 707 units already carrying them. One Big Circle built the onboard system for the Southeastern and Network Rail venture, spotting overheating rail and infrastructure defects before they worsen; trials so far have caught 41 such faults. Adecco UK deploys agentic AI to screen job candidates
Adecco UK — Human interviews at Adecco UK & Ireland now happen only after an agentic assistant built on Salesforce's Agentforce platform has already messaged applicants by SMS or email, handling AI candidate screening automatically. Most of these automated recruitment chats, over half, land outside typical office hours. Applicants themselves gave the process an average score of 4.6 out of 5.

55% of UK organisations now invest in AI for HR, survey finds
SD Worx — SD Worx finds UK employers topping a 16-country European survey on AI in HR: 55% now fund such tools, a jump from 35% in 2024 and well past the 38% continental average. Britain's workforce likewise reports the heaviest routine AI use on the job, 31% versus 23% elsewhere. UK AI adoption has spread without deepening. Among businesses with 10-plus staff, self-reported use of at least one AI technology rose from around 12% in late 2023 to around 35% by June 2026, and 49% at firms of 250-plus. Yet adopters' average number of AI technologies grew only from about 1.4 to 1.6, and just 10% report extensive AI use.

Each one is traced to the report it came from and dated, and where a figure is the organisation’s own the entry says so rather than presenting it as an independent result. Readiness, ecosystem and policy figures, where shown, are attributed on the card to the body that published them.
The record is maintained continuously by the Industrial Research Unit of the Straits Institute for Applied AI: entries are added as they are found and verified, not on a schedule, and nothing is published without an open source behind it. It currently holds 4731 entries across 249 countries.
