Among businesses with 10-plus staff, self-reported use of at least one AI technology rose from around 12% in late 2023 to around 35% by June 2026, and 49% at firms of 250-plus. Yet adopters' average number of AI technologies grew only from about 1.4 to 1.6, and just 10% report extensive AI use.

GCS reports about three hours saved per user weekly, some GBP 5.5 million in projected annual efficiencies and 98 per cent of surveyed users finding it useful (Net Promoter Score 62). The first cross-government generative-AI tool to go 'live', it won a 2025 National AI Award.
Uber and Wayve start autonomous rides on London's streets
Uber — Uber and Wayve have launched supervised autonomous rides in London, the first self-driving trips offered in the United Kingdom. Riders booking UberX, Uber Electric or Uber Comfort may be matched at no extra cost with a Wayve car, an all-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E with Wayve AI Driver and surround sensors. A trained, TfL-licensed private hire driver oversees each trip, and a small fleet serves the city at first, airports excluded.
