Ennatuurlijk deploys digital twin to optimise district heating network
Ennatuurlijk — Ennatuurlijk has widened its Gradyent partnership to bring a digital twin district heating deployment onto Midden West Brabant, its biggest network, serving Breda and Tilburg with about 1 TWh of heat each year. Software from the Gradyent Digital Twin will handle output levels and temperature settings as the site moves off biomass towards greener sources by 2027. Elsewhere in the Netherlands, this Dutch provider keeps 62 separate networks running for 90,000 households and 1,200 firms, a heat network optimisation effort now spreading beyond one site alone.

Cargill deploys AI-powered safety robot at Amsterdam plant
Cargill — Cargill's Amsterdam site, a multi-seed crushing and refinery facility, is trialling Spot, Boston Dynamics' four-legged robot, for around 10,000 weekly AI safety inspections in agribusiness. Thermal, acoustic and visual readings flag overheating machinery, product leaks. Cargill calls the AI-driven inspection pilot a step towards predictive, digital-first plant management.

Van Noord Growers — Eternal.ag's Harvester runs day and night for Van Noord Growers, a Zeeland tomato producer: autonomous tomato harvesting in greenhouse rows up to 22 hours daily, all week. Vision software judges ripeness per truss and cuts it free unaided. Trial success has the grower planning three robots for wider automated greenhouse harvesting.

KPN creates first fully AI-generated Christmas commercial
KPN — A wintry scene starring mascot cat Louis marks KPN's debut fully AI-built Christmas advert, unveiled 4 December 2025 as an AI video advertising milestone. Google's Veo 3 tool generated each frame, with Dentsu Creative Amsterdam collaborating on the piece. The Dutch telecoms group termed it a controlled trial gauging what generative video tools can achieve for professional output.
KLM — KLM's AI email marketing tool Airmail has sent 50 newsletters to 6.3 million customers, cutting email creation time by 90% with no drop in customer satisfaction scores. Airmail lets the Netherlands airline's local marketing teams assemble AI-generated campaigns from nearly 60 destinations and five themes.

One in six Dutch companies used AI in 2025, CBS reports
Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) — AI adoption in Dutch companies has doubled since 2023, with Statistics Netherlands (CBS) counting one in six firms as adopters — a trend also described as growing business use of artificial intelligence in the Netherlands. Mid-sized organisations employing 50 to 250 people saw the sharpest gains, up from 20% to 45%. Sales and marketing topped applications among adopters at 35%, ahead of administration at 32% and R&D at 25%.

PostNL deploys AI agents to automate administrative processes
PostNL — PostNL is deploying AI agents to automate administrative and support work under what it calls an 'AI-first' strategy, speeding process automation and standardisation. The work sits in a cost-savings plan now up to €180 million, including about €75 million extra across 2027 and 2028. Chief executive Pim Berendsen said this makes the cost base more competitive; no AI products were named.
