Queen Ingrid's Hospital — Queen Ingrid's Hospital in Nuuk installed an AI-powered MRI scanner from GE HealthCare for sharper, quicker scans. This brings AI-assisted MRI scanning to Greenland's stretched healthcare system, letting it handle more patients despite thin local infrastructure. Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen can now run it remotely, sparing patients the 3,500-kilometre trip to Denmark.

Greenlandic seafarers test AI-based sea ice charts in Arctic waters

Danish Meteorological Institute — Machine learning now drives ASIP (Automatic Sea Ice Products), DMI's (Danish Meteorological Institute) tool for AI-based sea ice charting across Greenlandic waters, built from satellite imagery. Royal Arctic Line, DanPilot Greenland and Arctic Command crews compared the automated output against hand-drawn charts through the season and reported quicker, more frequent refreshes than the older method allows. Accuracy still slips along coastlines and once melting begins, DMI notes, a gap explored at the 26 March 2026 review of the AI sea ice mapping trial.
