Bolivia's Supreme Court pilots AI assistants for judges and litigants

Tribunal Supremo de Justicia — Bolivia's Tribunal Supremo de Justicia is piloting AI assistants for judges and litigants together with a digital case file, court president Romer Saucedo confirmed. Paper case files still dominate the courts and, in Saucedo's account, invite bribes for sight of a file or a photocopy, whereas an online file would reach a citizen by mobile phone. AI in the courts arrives at a judiciary living on roughly 0.35% of the national budget and pressing for 5%.

Bolivia's customs service launches AranBUS, an AI tariff search engine

Aduana Nacional de Bolivia — Bolivia's Aduana Nacional has launched AranBUS, AI customs classification running on natural language processing to speed dispatches and cut misclassification of goods. A basic level answers quick, exact queries; an advanced level reads synonyms and dense technical context for operators and the wider public. The AI tariff search came bundled with RecaudoMETRO, posting key tax collection openly every seven minutes, and the Mi Aduana app for entrepreneurs, operators and travellers. Executive president Alberto Soto de la Vía called it a customs service that is modern, efficient and fully transparent.

Bolivia opens 5,000 Google scholarships in AI and cloud skills

Ministerio de Educación de Bolivia — Bolivia's government has opened 5,000 Google Career Launchpad places, plus 100 for tutor teachers, in AI skills training launched by President Rodrigo Paz. Applicants aged 18 and over — students, entrepreneurs, young people at large — get six months of free Google Skills study spanning artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analysis, cloud computing and other emerging fields. Holders take 50% off official Google Cloud certification exams; Paz cast the digital training push as the way to close a technology gap, citing possible pay rises of 15% to 25%.

Bolivia launches BolivIA, its first state-built AI for public servants

Ministerio de Planificación del Desarrollo y Medio Ambiente — Bolivia's Ministry of Planning, Development and Environment launched BolivIA, state-built AI for legal research that lets public servants query laws, decrees and resolutions, citing the exact instruments. Bolivia's prosecutors watch 275 house-arrest detainees by facial recognition

Ministerio Público de Bolivia — Bolivia's Ministerio Público has run ARGO, the house-arrest arm of the ROMA–ARGO platform, since 10 March 2026, and AI house-arrest monitoring now reaches 275 people via a digital geofence, SkyFace facial recognition prompting random check-ins, and SONUS voice matching against the identity a judge authorised. Armando Corral Davezies, the Ministerio Público's technology director, puts the tally past 44,133 biometric check-ins on a platform needing no standing human oversight. In a Cochabamba field test the biometric supervision system caught a breach, georeferenced it and raised alerts inside three minutes.

Bolivia's government explains the Marset capture with an AI video

Government of Bolivia — Bolivia's government has published an AI-generated government video reconstructing the police raid that took Uruguayan trafficker Sebastián Marset in Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The animation follows officers into two luxury properties at around 3 AM on the Friday of the arrest, clearing the house holding Marset's armed guards first. Generative AI produced the sequence, out within hours of the raid.
