Poder Judicial del Estado de México — The State of Mexico's judiciary has run 1,401 court rulings through an AI tool producing plain-language rulings for citizens, Governor Delfina Gómez told its first 2025–2026 annual report in Texcoco. It belongs to the court's 'internet of rulings', alongside an electronic court platform the governor says has served over 170,000 users.

Tamaulipas says its citizen assistant AVi-T will answer queries with AI

Gobierno del Estado de Tamaulipas — The Tamaulipas state government will turn AVi-T into an AI citizen assistant answering questions on WhatsApp and a web portal about vehicle-tax payments, birth certificates and the right office for each procedure, from vetted institutional information. Edwin Tuexi Amaro, who heads the new Secretariat of Innovation and Digital Intelligence, says the virtual assistant goes live right after the governor's launch within weeks, making citizen-service staff more efficient without cutting headcount.

San Luis Potosí puts AI robot-dogs on public-security patrol

Government of the State of San Luis Potosí — San Luis Potosí's government has put four AI robot dogs into public-security service, the first Mexican state to do so. Governor Ricardo Gallardo calls them technological first responders that patrol, scout terrain and temperature, go where officers would be at risk and stream live images to command centres. They debut at the Feria Nacional Potosina; 16 are earmarked for the Civil Guard, and five humanoid robots ordered from China have not yet arrived.

Querétaro's court uses its own generative AI to draft two judgments

Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Querétaro — The Tribunal Superior de Justicia de Querétaro used Sonia, its self-built and self-hosted generative AI, to help write two final rulings, in a commercial enforcement case and an uncontested divorce, reportedly a first for generative AI in Mexican courts. Court president Braulio Guerra Urbiola says around 17 million pesos went on a dedicated physical server to keep litigants' data in house, with six months of training on family and commercial law. Specialists supervise every Sonia document and the presiding judge assesses it before issue, keeping legal responsibility with the judge.

Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (ISSSTE) — Mexico's state-employee health institute ISSSTE has opened four AI mammography reading centres, the 'Cuartos Azules', in hospitals in Mexico City, Jalisco, Yucatán and Coahuila. With six stations each, they aim to handle over 400,000 mammograms a year, interpreted remotely by breast-imaging radiologists, officials told the president's briefing.

Director general Alejandro Svarch Pérez set out fixed timings: appointment and linking of records to the AI mammograph on day zero, medical assessment, mammogram, ultrasound and further studies on day one, results by day 14 and treatment from day 30. Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Respiratorias (INER) — Mexico's National Institute of Respiratory Diseases (INER) has brought in AI imaging software to catch lung cancer and conditions such as pneumonia, COPD and tuberculosis earlier, the health ministry says. OECD (PISA 2025) — The OECD's PISA 2025 results show 47% of Mexican 15-year-olds use AI chatbots for learning at least weekly, against 46% across the OECD. They exceed the OECD average for drafting schoolwork (35% against 29%), summarising texts (34% against 30%) and first research on a new topic (40% against 31%). Pupils avoiding AI for some tasks scored about 20 points higher in science, though the OECD says this does not prove AI weakens results.
