Bahamas says it will give civil servants SmartGov AI tools
Ministry of Innovation and National Development — Sebas Bastian, minister of innovation and national development, told the 2026-2027 Budget debate that SmartGov, a package of AI tools for civil servants, will absorb briefs, research, correspondence and paperwork. The Government will not lay software over today's forms, but rewire the workflow beneath, so a task that used to pass across a desk becomes automatic. A secure national identity card anchors the joined-up state these public sector AI tools serve.
Bahari uses AI-generated models for its Coral World collection
Bahari — Bahari posted Facebook images for the Coral World collection on 31 May built around AI-generated models, not photographed people. Shoppers pushed back, saying a label built on island culture should have booked real faces. General manager Carole Barnett replied that campaigns have leaned on local talent since 2014, and that AI fashion imagery suited this shoot because Coral World itself has closed.
Rodland Real Estate puts its agents on voice-driven AI platform Roro
Rodland Real Estate — Rodland Real Estate has moved every agent onto Roro, a spoken-command AI real estate platform devised by founder Tim Rodland. Asked aloud, Roro returns median prices, sales volumes, price-per-square-foot and pricing shifts across Old Fort Bay, rebuilt daily from Bahamas Real Estate Association feeds. The brokerage AI system also opens client files, drafts compliance paperwork and handles diaries and correspondence; nobody outside the firm may sign in.
Every entry on this page is a named organisation putting AI to work in a real job, taken from the State of Applied AI record. Each one is traced to the report it came from and dated, and where a figure is the organisation’s own the entry says so rather than presenting it as an independent result. Readiness, ecosystem and policy figures, where shown, are attributed on the card to the body that published them.
The record is maintained continuously by the Industrial Research Unit of the Straits Institute for Applied AI: entries are added as they are found and verified, not on a schedule, and nothing is published without an open source behind it. It currently holds 1114 entries across 249 countries.
